World Book Day 2024

On Thursday 7th March, we celebrated World Book day by coming into school dressed as our favourite characters, wearing pyjamas and sharing a story over a bacon butty and brew.  Thank you to all the parents who attended this event and for your continued support with the Trinity Hospice, Elmer Parade Fund.

As always, the importance and power of reading, particularly, Reading for Enjoyment is at the heart of World Day celebrations.

WOW! Just look at these fantastic entries into the ‘Cardboard Roll Character’ competition!

The winners for KS1 were Holly Jasmine and Deo.  From KS2 the winner was Penny.

Reading in School

The children took part in guess the character quizzes, reading to one another, visiting the local library, listening to stories and lots more.

The children in Nursery had an amazing morning celebrating World Book Day. The children enjoyed a trip to their local library. Hannah the librarian was very kind and read them her favourite story. They then enjoyed going on a book scavenger hunt to find different illustrations from the books and finally they enjoyed sharing a story with each other.
