Elliott’s Cup Email!
We recently played in the Elliott’s Cup Football Competition against Northfold. It was 1-1 at the end of the match. So it went to penalties and finished 3-3. This took us to sudden death (this means that you have to score your penalty to win) and unfortunately we missed our penalty. Sadly we were knocked out of the cup. All the team played superbly and gave 100%.
That night I received an email from Mr Cadwallader who is Wyre & Fylde Schools Sports Partnership and School Games Organiser. The email said:
Your team should be ridiculously proud of themselves. Their conduct, demeanour, attitude, resilience, compassion and maturity was exemplary! Both teams could have played their great football long into the evening and I still don’t think a winner would have been determined but unfortunately the penalties didn’t fall in your favour.
It was an absolute pleasure to referee the game and your school and parents should be extremely proud of them.
Well done to all the team who represented Chaucer in such a exemplary manner.
We wish Northfold luck in the quarter finals.
