Celebrating Chinese New Year in Nursery

Another fun week in Nursery.  This week we found out about Chinese New Year.  After listening to the story of the Great Race we held our own races. We had running, skipping, jumping, hopping and walking races.

We also painted pictures of the animals from the story, we tried really hard to copy the patterns of our names and numbers.  We placed a dragon number game to practice our numbers.  The children enjoyed listening to Chinese music and creating their own dragon dance.

But our favorite part about learning about Chinese New Year was trying some of the foods that are eaten during the celebrations.

Alana said, ‘I love Chinese food.  My favourite food was the prawn crackers and the red sauce.’

Dexter said, ‘ I liked the noodles.’
